Quick solutions to frequent setup problems

Most setup issues have simple solutions. This guide covers the most common problems new users encounter and how to fix them quickly. Before contacting support, check here first - you'll likely find your answer and be back on track in minutes.

Requirements

  • Access to your PestBooker dashboard
  • Your Field Routes credentials (if troubleshooting integration issues)
  • Patience - most issues are simple configuration problems

Field Routes: 'Invalid API Credentials' Error

  • Go to Dashboard → Settings → Integration and verify all three credentials are entered
  • Check for extra spaces before or after your credentials (copy-paste errors)
  • Verify your API Subdomain is JUST the subdomain (e.g., 'acmepest' not 'https://acmepest.pestroutes.com')
  • Confirm your Field Routes API access is active - contact Field Routes support if unsure
  • Try copying credentials again directly from Field Routes
  • If still failing, your API credentials may have expired - contact Field Routes to regenerate them

Field Routes: Bookings Not Syncing

  • Verify you've selected a Source ID in Dashboard → Settings → Integration
  • Source ID is REQUIRED for syncing - this is the most common cause of sync failures
  • Check that your Field Routes credentials are configured (you should see green checkmarks)
  • Wait 2-3 minutes after booking - syncing isn't instant
  • Make a new test booking and monitor for sync (don't reuse old test bookings)
  • Check Field Routes for error messages or rejected leads
  • Verify your Field Routes subscription includes API access

Booking Page: Service Tiers Not Showing

  • Go to Dashboard → Services and verify at least one service tier is set to 'Active'
  • Check that each active tier has a PestRoutes Service ID configured (required to activate)
  • Verify you've selected pest offerings - customers see what pest types you treat
  • Verify that all desired service tiers are set to 'Active'
  • Refresh your booking page (hard refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac)
  • Clear your browser cache if you recently made changes
  • Try viewing the booking page in an incognito/private window to rule out caching

Email: Not Receiving Booking Confirmations

  • Check your spam/junk folder - confirmation emails sometimes get filtered
  • Add noreply@getpestcontrol.services to your contacts to prevent spam filtering
  • Verify the email address in your booking is correct (check for typos)
  • Allow 2-3 minutes for email delivery during peak times
  • Check your email provider's bounce/rejection logs if you have access
  • Try booking with a different email address (Gmail, Outlook) to isolate the issue
  • Contact support if emails consistently don't arrive after 5+ minutes

Booking Page: Logo or Branding Not Displaying

  • Verify you've uploaded a logo in Dashboard → Settings → Booker
  • Check that your logo file is a supported format (PNG, JPG, SVG recommended)
  • Ensure logo file size is under 2MB - large files may fail to upload
  • Wait 1-2 minutes after uploading for changes to propagate
  • Clear browser cache and refresh the booking page
  • Try a different logo file if the current one isn't appearing
  • Check that your logo has good contrast against the background color

General: 'Permission Denied' or Can't Edit Settings

  • Verify your role in the organization - only Admins and Managers can edit settings
  • Go to Dashboard → Team to check your role
  • If you're the organization owner but seeing this error, try logging out and back in
  • Clear browser cookies and cache, then log in again
  • Contact your organization admin to request elevated permissions if needed
  • If you're the only user, you should automatically be an admin - contact support if not

Pro Tips

  • When troubleshooting, change ONE thing at a time so you know what fixed the issue
  • Take screenshots of error messages to help support diagnose problems faster
  • Check the browser console (F12) for technical error messages if you're comfortable with that
  • Most 'not working' issues are actually 'not configured yet' - double-check your setup
  • Have you tried turning it off and on again? (Seriously - log out and back in)
  • Join the PestBooker community forum to see if others encountered the same issue
